Matt Connolly won a dozen roses every month for the rest of 2010. Matt and his wife are expecting their first baby and his wife is currently in her second trimester, so not too much longer. For Valentine’s Day Matt and his wife went on a “Babymoon” which I had only heard of from television and have never met anyone that actually did it. With his great story about what he did for his wife on Valentine’s Day we awarded him with Roses for 2010. Here’s his story:
“My wife knew about a babymoon and before her telling me I, like most of my buds, had never heard of such a thing. Then I realized that life is going to change quite a bit once the baby arrives and I saw on the Today Show that hotels are even offering deals on Babymoon vacations.
So, I started looking into it and then obviously a vacation with my beautiful, pregnant wife was really sounding like a good idea to me. Before Christmas I did my research and picked a hotel/spa offering a babymoon package in Sausalito(San Fran)to really pamper the future mother of my first born. I then sprung the trip on her in her Christmas stocking with tickets/reservations over Valentine’s Day.
A buddy of mine has a cool job there at this fancy restaurant and my aunt and uncle live out there with my little cuz as well. So we saw everyone, drank a lot of coffee, had awesome food, and did the Babymoon up right, looking over the San Francisco Bay! We did the cable car and ferry rides as well as Chinatown, but really tried to relax and get out of town for almost a week just her and I. It’s sort of a follow up to the Honeymoon and one last romantic getaway before you start having to take kids everywhere you go.
My lovely bride Jodi definitely deserved it and we had a blast while in her 2nd trimester. Thanks for allowing me the time to share our Valentine’s Day story this year! We can’t wait to show off our monthly roses this year, thanks a bunch.”
Congratulations Matt and Jodi on a wonderful Valentine’s Day, Roses for 2010 and especially on your soon to come baby! Enjoy your monthly Roses!
